Mascara: the not-to-do mistakes

mascara-wander
It is true that we have some problems with eyeliner, but we know how to use mascara very well. We all do it with our mouth open (try to avoid it…).
It is one of the most beloved and used makeup. We have always used it, so we think we know all its secrets. Is it really true, though? If you’re in doubt, here is a short guide on the not-to-do mistakes.
That being said, though, our ten year experience is often not enough to avoid mistakes. We collected the most common ones according to the advice by Shine.com. Please, note them down.

1) DON’T START WITH THE UPPER LASHES: to avoid creating marks on the mobile eyelid start with the lower lashes. Then, looking right in front of you, put mascara on upper lashes too, starting from the lash line. Then, zigzag the brush until you reach the desired effect. You usually need to put it on two or three times to reach the right volume and arching.
2) BE MORE GENTLE: that is, don’t take out the brush too strongly. You indeed risk letting too much air in, thus drying the product that will create clots on lashes. Before applying mascara, make some soft and round movements to take the mascara with the brush. Are you still not reaching the desired effect? Keep an old brush at hand, and separate lashes after the application.
3) BE CAREFUL FOR “EXPIRY DATE”: obviously, there is no precise timing, but keep in mind that anything that comes into contact with your eyes should always be replaced to avoid infections. Think that one mascara cannot be used longer than six months.
4) PERSONALIZE THE APPLICATION: for example, if you have distant eyes it is better to put more product on the inner corner. Are they really close? It’s the other way round: put more mascara outwards.
5) DON’T UNDERESTIMATE THE EYELASHES CURLER: to really transform your gaze, the secret lies in this make up tool. Use it in the right way: start from the upper lash line, by being careful not to “pinch” the skin, and close it. Wait for 10 seconds. And then do the same on tips, too.
6) REMOVE MAKEUP CORRECTLY: that is, in order not to damage the lashes, avoid excessive rubbing. We suggest you to put a cotton ball soaked with makeup remover, leave it on for a few seconds, and then remove the mascara with a gentle downward movement. Repeat the operation until the product completely disappears.
